Heatwave melts car in Italy

British tourist John Westbrook, from England, was visiting Italy when he and his family noticed a Renault Megane dripping onto the parking lot. Westbrook ended up taking a video of the shocking incident.

Westbrook’s video showed the car’s lights, wing mirrors and window fittings melting off due to the heatwave, which has claimed the lives of more than 80 people. The vehicle was parked in the town of Caorle, located in Northern Italy, where temperatures reached 99F.

Part of the car’s bumper was even melted off. Westbrook joked and said that the moral of the story was not to trust French cars.

Westbrook said that as soon as you go outside it was like walking into an oven.

In the first 10 days of July, more than 140 elderly people have died as a result of the heatwave. Tourists have been warned to take precautions in the heat.

Other parts of Europe has been hit by a heatwave too. A few weeks ago, temperatures soared above 104 degrees Fahrenheit in Spain and Portugal. France also experienced high temperatures, as well as England.
