It seems honesty is not always the best policy when looking for love. This Turkish man admitted to the world on a TV dating show that he murdered his former wife and a subsequent lover, shocking the host as well as the studio audience.
Sefer Calinak, 62, appeared recently on a Turkish television dating show, Luck of the Draw. He was apparently looking for a new romance.
He told the audience, "I'm an honest person looking for a new wife," but then added that he had killed his first wife and also murdered a former lover. He said he has served prison sentences for each of his crimes and that he was released under an amnesty program.
When asked by the shocked hostess why he had committed the crimes, he said he killed his wife because her behavior irritated him and his subsequent lover, because he thought she was after his money.
It seems his honesty didn't pay off and the hostess then asked him to leave the show. He walked off the stage, hands in the air, drawing applause from the studio audience.
