Girl attacked by pit bulls told to leave KFC because of scars

By Scott Tuttle     Jun 15, 2014 in World
Jackson - A three-year-old girl who was mauled by pit bulls back in April was reportedly asked to leave a Jackson, Mississippi KFC when an employee told her that her physical appearance was scaring the customers.
Young Victoria Wilcher, 3, was at her grandfather Donald Mullins' house in Simpson County, Mississippi when three of his pit bulls jumped her and reportedly dragged her out of the house.
By the time her grandfather was able to get the dogs off her, the toddler was severely injured, having broken her upper and lower jaw, smashed her nose and cheekbones and completely lost her right eye. According to her Facebook recovery page, Victoria's Victories, she was also left with the right side of her face paralyzed.
Though she has made some recovery, the child was left with considerable scars from the attack and will require many more surgeries.
According to her grandmother, Kelly Mullins, the two of them decided to have lunch together after a doctor's visit last week when they settled on Kentucky Fried Chicken's mashed potatoes and gravy due to the fact that Victoria still could not chew solid food.
WAPT reports that an employee approached them as they were eating.
"They said, 'We have to ask you to leave, because her face is disrupting our customers,'" said Mullins. "I wanted to hit the lady."
"She won't even look in the mirror anymore. ...when we go to a store, she doesn't even want to get out [of the car]. She's 3 years old and she's embarrassed about what she looks like. She's embarrassed and I hate it because she shouldn't be. It ain't her fault."
According to Rick Maynard, a spokesman for KFC, the company is thoroughly investigating the incident to decide what action to take.
"We take this very seriously," said Maynard. "We have zero tolerance for any kind of hurtful or disrespectful actions toward our guests. Our investigation is ongoing, but we will make things right for this beautiful little girl and her family."
Victoria's grandfather, Donald Mullins, who is now divorced from Kelly Mullins, immediately shot two of the dogs that attacked her and had the third one euthanized by lethal injection. Shortly after, he and his girlfriend Rita Tompkins were arrested on child endangerment charges.
