article imageCorn dog truck overturns, causes spill in Louisiana

By Sean Fraser     Mar 28, 2014 in Odd News
Shreveport - A section of interstate in Louisiana shut down Tuesday morning after a semi-truck carrying about 75,000 corn dogs crashed.
At around 3:40 a.m., an 18-wheeler hauling the corn dogs was headed west to California when it flipped over and hit a guard rail, according to KTBS in Shreveport.
Corn dogs littered the interstate and the side of the road, but that did not stop locals from stopping to take advantage of the spill.
"There were some reports that passersby were coming in and loading up on some of those corn dogs for dinner," said Cpl. Marcus Hines, of the Shreveport Police Department, to WWLTV.
A spokesperson for the SPD said that the section of I-220 where the incident occurred will remain closed until approximately 10 a.m.
There were no injuries in the crash, and the driver will not be cited for any traffic violations. However, the cause of the crash is under investigation.
