Auckland - A New Zealand woman who hasn't been able to see since she was 11 can see again after she hit her head on a coffee table.
According to Independent, Lisa Reid, of Auckland, has been blind since she was 11 because of a tumor that was pressing down on her optic nerve.
Reid, now 38, hit her head on the table after she knelt down to kiss her guide dog goodnight. The incident occurred when she was 24 years old.
When Reid woke up the next morning, she was able to see again, according to Mirror. She said that she couldn't describe how she felt when she discovered she could see again. "It felt amazing," she said.
Reid said that one of the most shocking moments she experienced when she was able to see again, was how her brother looked. She said that he was a man and he had a goatee and everything.
According to Daily Mail, Reid's vision was partially restored, and the New Zealand's Blind Foundation has been helping her cope with her visual impairment. Reid said that she would be lost without them.
Reid has been sharing her story because she wants to raise awareness and funds to help the foundation provide the services that she has been using since she was a teenager.
She said that they have been amazing, and that she is grateful for everything they have given her.
