Seattle - Working at Kentucky Fried Chicken can be like a cakefight, definitely not a cakewalk, anyway for employees of one restaurant in Seattle, Washington.
A blog on the Seattle Times reported police were called to one KFC in the city after a man began throwing lemon cake at employees.
Officer Nic Abts-Olsen and partner Cliff Borjeson received reports of the alleged assault and the fact that employees could no longer sell the cake because of the incident.
The two policemen took the report of an unknown male throwing a cake at KFC employees and then departing. The man involved in the alleged incident didn't hit anybody.
According to the blog, the description of the man involved in the incident was vague.
The employees were able to describe the cake in detail. The lemon cake was yellow, round and sold for $5.19, according to a report by Abts-Olsen.
The alleged assault was not the only incident of people allegedly being assaulted by food this year. Two other articles reported food assault incidents earlier in the year.
According to, a man, 59, from Easthampton, was arrested in July for allegedly throwing huge amounts of cayenne pepper randomly at people at a Whole Foods Market in Hadley.
Eric Bertrand was accused of seven counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon by means of a shod foot and cayenne pepper, one count of assault and battery and disorderly conduct after the incident, according to police. Nobody required medical attention after the incident.
The Daily Mail reported a senior citizen was charged with assault after allegedly starting a food fight at a Golden Corral in North Carolina in March.
Polly Richards, 64, was arrested and accused of two counts of assault and battery and was jailed on $1,500 bail.
According to the article, Richards allegedly cursed at Richard Moore, 69, at the salad bar, pushed him in the face and slapped him, after Moore cut in line. Reportedly, Moore, who said he has had heart trouble, said later he pushed Richards, because he was scared she would hurt him.
Richards was also accused of throwing a plate of food and hitting Fay Caldwell, 62.
