If you are a nature lover, the Berry College Bald Eagle Cam will have you glued to your computer this weekend. The campus is celebrating the hatching of a new bald eaglet, and you have a bird's eye view to the action as another is due to hatch any day.
This pair of bald eagles took up residence at the college a few years ago. They return each year to lay eggs in the high pine trees of this North Georgia college. Eagles mate for life and typically reuse their nests. So it was a safe bet to install wireless cameras above the nest when the residents were not around this past September.
As the nest is so high up, Georgia Power donated the truck and manpower to install the camera. Sony donated the camera and Fluid Mesh Network is donating the transmission feed.
You can watch the proud parents and the hatching of their next eaglet here.
The college has a FaceBook page where well wishers from all over the world have been signing in to congratulate the couple.
Stay tuned this Spring and be there as the bald eaglets take their first flight!
