Woman stabs boyfriend for eating Thanksgiving dinner early

By Megan Hamilton     Nov 29, 2014 in Crime
Wilkes-barre - Unhappy that her boyfriend began eating Thanksgiving dinner while she slept off a bender, a Pennsylvania woman allegedly grabbed a knife, chased him around the table and then stabbed him in the chest, police reported.
Jack-Lyn Blake, 47, is incarcerated at the Luzerne County jail where she faces a host of charges — aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, reckless endangerment, and making terroristic threats, The Smoking Gun reports.
After receiving a 911 call about a stabbing, Wilkes-Barre police went to Blake's residence around 6:30 Thanksgiving evening.
"I stabbed him," Blake told the officers when they arrived. Officers found her boyfriend, Benjamin Smith, 45, in the bathroom clutching a towel over his bleeding chest, Gawker reports. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Associated Press reports that it isn't clear whether she has a lawyer.
Smith told officers that he and Blake had argued earlier that day. Blake, reportedly intoxicated, went upstairs to sleep. While she snoozed, Blake started eating Thanksgiving dinner without her.
When Blake realized he'd started the party without her, things got dicey, The Smoking Gun reports. That's when she grabbed the knife and chased her boyfriend around the table, police said. Smith dodged several stabbing attempts prior to getting stabbed. She also threw the knife at him, hitting him in the face.
It's entirely likely that this is one Thanksgiving Day that Smith won't forget anytime soon.
