Woman shoots boyfriend for smearing pizza on her face

Jennifer Boop is accused of shooting 34-year-old Brandon Doan, during a heated argument back in October. Boop was allegedly grabbed by her hair and had pizza rubbed in her face.

Doan said he only rubbed the pizza gently in Boop’s face. He added that he didn’t even know what the two were arguing about, but he did say he threw her and her two kids out of the house they lived in together. He added that he was angry when Boop didn’t immediately pack her things to leave.

On Tuesday, at a preliminary hearing, judge Lori R. Hackenberg transferred all the charges against Boop to Snyder County Court of Please for a trial. She is facing charges of aggravated assault, criminal attempted homicide and terrorist threats.

Kathleen Dautrich, Boop’s attorney, said Doan was frustrated that Boop didn’t obey his commands, so he went further and escalated the argument. Doan said Boop took his .38 Special from his holster and fired a bullet into his chest. The bullet entered his upper chest and fragments were left behind in his spine. He’s also left with a weakened left arm.

Police say Boop told them she called 911 and then called her mother before she tried to stop Doan’s bleeding. She said fired the gun by accident and she was just trying to scare him into letting go of her hair.

Dautrich said it sounds like her client was bullied. She added that she never saw anyone ‘smoosh’ anything gently. ‘Smoosh’ is the word Doan used to describe how he rubbed pizza into Boop’s face.
