article imageVideo shows police officer in Texas breaking student's arm

The actions of a police officer in Beaumont, Texas are being questioned after a recently released video shows the officer breaking a student's arm.
Some people are saying the officer's actions were justified while others are claiming it was police brutality. In a recently released video, Officer Steve Rivers can be seen breaking the arm of a student. The video shows a heated confrontation between the student and officers, during which a female officer grabs the student and pushes him to the ground. The controversy, however, comes from the moment when Officer Rivers bends the student's arm and breaks it. The gruesome cracking of the bone can even be heard in the video, just before the student begins screaming in agony. While it isn't clear whether the officer intentionally broke the student's arm, many are understandably making that claim based on how the confrontation appears on camera.
Officer Rivers is currently on administrative leave from his department without pay while the investigation into the case is underway.
