Toronto - Toronto police have issued a warrant for the arrest of an 18-year-old man after it is alleged four teens who answered an ad on Kijiji for the sale of car were robbed, held against their will, beaten and were victims of extortion.
Toronto police advised the public of the arrest warrant on Saturday. Alhaji Kabba, 18, is wanted on charges of robbery with a firearm, forcible confinement, extortion, assault with a weapon, aggravated assault and failure to comply with a recognizance.
Police allege on Monday, July 14 an 18-year-old man answered an ad on Kijiji offering a car for sale. The teen, accompanied by three friends, went to meet the seller in an underground garage in the northwest part of the city. A seller then showed the car to the four teens.
While the four were looking at the car, a group of men approached. The teens were stripped naked and robbed of their possessions. They were held against their will while they were beaten with rocks and threatened with a gun and a machete.
The teens were forced to call family and friends to raise money for their release. About four hours later they were able to escape and called police.
Kabba is described as 6' 1" tall and weighing 180 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
Police are advising the public not to approach Kabba if they see him as he is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him or has any information is asked to call 911 or Crime Stoppers.
