Toronto - According to the allegations, the 16-year-old girl initially forced another 16-year-old girl into prostitution. A 39-year-old man has also been charged after it was alleged he later helped the teen accused exercise control over the victim.
Yesterday, the Toronto Police Service issued a media release stating police began a human trafficking investigation on Feb. 23. It is alleged on Feb. 1, a 16-year-old girl took another 16-year-old girl from Hamilton to Niagara Falls. Once there, the teen accused rented a hotel room and took pictures of the victim. The pictures were then posted on an Internet escort site.
It is alleged the teen victim was forced to have sex with several men and turn the money over to the 16-year-old accused.
According to Toronto police, on Feb. 19 the teen accused took the victim to Toronto and introduced her to Courtney Rocker, 39. Pictures were again taken, posted online, and the victim was again forced to have sex with multiple men in a hotel room.
It is further alleged Rocker and the young accused plied the victim with alcohol and drugs and that Rocker assaulted and sexually assaulted the 16-year-old victim.
Both Rocker and the female accused were arrested on Feb. 23. The 16-year-old girl, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with trafficking in persons under 18 recruiting, trafficking in persons under 18 exercise control, obtaining a financial benefit from trafficking another person, advertising the sale of sexual services of another person and possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Rocker, of Toronto, faces the same charges as well as additional counts of assault and sexual assault. Both Rocker and the teen accused appeared in court on Wednesday.
