By Owen Weldon     Sep 13, 2014 in Crime
Everett - A 14-year-old boy from Everett, Pennsylvania, stood in front of a Jesus statue and simulated oral sex with its face. He now faces up to two years in jail.
The boy, whose name was not released, snapped photos of himself with the statue and then posted them to his Facebook page. According to Mother Jones, eventually authorities discovered the pics.
According to NY Post, incident took place outside the Love In The Name Of Christ building. The teen is now charged with desecration of a venerated object.
The boy's case will be handled by a juvenile court, according to The Smoking Gun. State police said that the crime is a misdemeanor. They said that it involves damaging, defacing, polluting or physically mistreating in a way that will outrage people's sensibilities when they observe the action, or when they discover the action.
This is not the first time that someone from the state of Pennsylvania has faced such charges. Back in 2010, a student who was attending a Catholic college in Wilkes-Barre was arrested. The 22-year-old was peeing on a Nativity scene that was constructed in a city square. A police officer caught him in the act and chased after him when he attempted to make a run for it.
The man was arrested and then he was charged with desecration of a venerated object, public drunkenness, indecent exposure and disorderly conduct.
