Multiple reports say it happened in the Cuenca province of central Spain. As laughter is heard in the background, the man (he may be a teen) lines up his kick as the tiny kitten walks near him. He then takes steps and, as if taking a goal kick in a football/soccer match, he punts the defenseless animal into the air.
Local police are looking into the crime but as of this writing there has been no arrests made. The kitten? The kitten had multiple broken bones, including ribs and back, and died soonafter.
It came to the attention of police because someone took the video and posted it online where it was seen by an animal adovacy group called the Party against Mistreatment of Animals (Partido Animalista Contra el Maltrato Animal, or PACMA). That group contacted police.
It’s unclear how police intend to discover the identify of the man kicking the cat, but they are working on it. PACMA has already been in touch with local prosecutors as they seek to make certain that once the offending, and offensive, man is caught, charges will be laid.
As of this writing the video has been viewed over 75,000 times, and counting, and online comments indicate people are, not unexpectedly, revolted by what they see. One woman described the man kicking the cat as “the son of a demon” while another suggests he is one of “tomorrow’s killers.”
