By Marcus Hondro     Jul 1, 2014 in Crime
Twenty-year-old Indio Falconer Downey was arrested in West Hollywood on suspicion of cocaine possession on Sunday and his father, actor Robert Downey Jr., was grateful. Downey Jr. thanked the Sheriff's department for their "intervention."
The actor knows of what it is he speaks as he himself has been down the path of both drugs and alcohol abuse, and arrests, and is aware that while an arrest may appear to be a negative, it can actually be a positive. In fact Downey Jr. believes the arrest of his son could lead to a "recovery success story."
"Unfortunately, there's a genetic component to addiction and Indio has likely inherited it," Downey, Jr, said in a statement Monday. "We're grateful to the Sheriff's Department for their intervention, and believe Indio can be another recovery success story instead of a cautionary tale."
Indio was pulled over while riding in a car with two others but he was the only one arrested, He was eventually released after having posted bail at $10 250; he was ordered to appear in court on August 29.
