Daytona Beach - On Friday, James Guy Bull, 62, was convicted of fondling and raping his eight-month-old puppy. He will now spend five years in a Florida prison.
According to USA Today, Bull faced two counts of felony cruelty to animals, as well as misdemeanor animal cruelty charges and misdemeanor sexual activities involving animals.
According to WCNC, State Attorney R.J. Larizza said that citizens of the Seventh Circuit and beyond were shocked by Bull's abuse of the dog. He also said that the facts surrounding the case were vile and incomprehensible.
Some of the evidence prosecutors gathered included reports from two witnesses who say they saw Bull fondling his dog several times, according to Inquisitr. Witnesses said that this went on despite the dog crying and yelping.
One witness said that they saw him actually having sex with the dog, and Bull pulled up his pants when he saw him. Bull proceeded to place the dog on the ground.
Police said that the dog was chained to a post on the front porch when they arrived at Bull's home. They said the dog had no water, no food and no shelter. The affidavit also says that the dog exhibited signs of physical abuse and it was afraid and skittish.
The dog had its named change from Coco to Rose, and is in the custody of animal rescue.
