This is a very strange, bizarre series of allegations. There are a lot of odd associations of people and events. If you know anything at all about British culture, you know that children from shelters mixing with Members of Parliament and Lords is hardly normal. Let alone dozens of them. Flat caps from the lower classes mixing with the “elite” and dropping off these kids at parties in exclusive residences is also unusual, to say the least.
Not in Dolphin Square, made to house the British “Establishment.” Testimonies from those involved make it sound more like the Marquis De Sade was doing an encore of 120 Days of Sodom, but according to these allegations, it was business as usual in Dolphin Square. Debates in spineless Westminster make it sound like the Marquis may have been misunderstood.
Allegations regarding these matters have been made since the 1960s, but not a lot has happened. Nor is the culture well understood. Contrary to the image of Swinging London, “Sleazy London” was the real driving force. A hard core of crims, notably the never sufficiently damned Krays and a person called Charlie Richardson, a rival, were a pervasive presence. They were in media, music, insurance, and anything else which made money. Their influence in the City of London continued and still continues to this day.
If you’re wondering how a collection of MPs, Lords and other fascinating objects would source a supply of young boys, the criminal connection doesn’t require any great leap of logic. Nobody else has those connections. Nobody else would be able to set up a regular delivery of kids.
A collection of truly bizarre figures emerges when you investigate the people associated with Dolphin Square. Superimposed on a few pathetic pictures of kids are the pictures of prosperous figures of all kinds. They’re a miscellany of figures from British character types. There are ex-MI5 people, child shelter managers, and a virtual art gallery of weird figures, all alleged to have had roles in the Dolphin Square paedophile racket.
Other allegations, some of which are now getting traction after all these years, have been made that “top level” pressure was applied to the UK police to drop investigations. It’s quite likely that the average Bobby or low level police officers would have had no real options to pursue investigations. Who could they turn to? Actual crimes, including murders, were alleged, and they were told to do nothing?
Even more strangely, one of the allegations is that the Official Secrets Act would have made the police liable to charges? The Official Secrets Act is designed to protect national security, not paedophiles, or criminals. If you rob a bank, you can’t use the Official Secrets Act as an excuse. The Oxbridge crowd must be far more illiterate than anyone realizes, if that’s considered any sort of defence. Are we to assume the Soviets or the Wombles would have attacked the UK if Dolphin Square information became public?
The list of VIPs who are associated with Dolphin Square is long and unspeakably tedious. It’s a group of spectacularly unimpressive people, in my view. These are the faceless members of British upper echelons. They’re people who were in office, did nothing, and are alleged to have been Dolphin Square regulars. There’s an ex-MI6 chief, among them and 70 MPs implicated in the allegations as well as other senior Establishment figures.
UK readers, particularly those who lived through the Thatcher years, may not be too surprised. The other career activities of this entire generation of politicians included the ultimate insult to British culture, the destruction of the last vestiges of British national dignity by grovelling corporate and political sycophants. This was a whole generation of nobodies.
Nothing they did — or didn’t do — should surprise anyone. The true face of this pseudo-elite isn’t the wild-eyed British eccentric academic or artistic genius, but the fish-eyed peasant vermin of the office and pub. They’re the difference between Shakespeare and a Thatcher speech. Whether they’re MPs, Lords or shop assistants, they barely have nervous systems.
When Britain had a spine, those involved or associated, guilty or not, would have been mercilessly destroyed. In the old class system, these allegations would have been received differently, and reactions would have been swift and ruthless.
Those involved or even remotely connected would have been loathed and hated by the lower class, causing actual riots and physical attacks. The people involved would have been totally distrusted by the middle class and financial hardheads, and attacked at business level, with very conspicuous disassociations enforced ASAP. The allegations would have been considered a great way to remove rivals by the upper class, and equally enthusiastically followed through.
Not now, though. The weak, timid responses thus far show no such integrity, or any practical applications. The question is now whether Britain has the balls or the heart to follow through on these allegations with a proper criminal investigation and prosecutions. The question shouldn’t even need to be asked. The difference in answers is the difference between Great Britain and Grotesque Britain.
