Nottingham - Scott Humphrey, of Britain, was sentenced to four years in prison for killing his friend who "poked" his girlfriend on Facebook.
Humphrey, 27, repeatedly punched his friend, 29-year-old Richard Rovetto because he "poked" his girlfriend on Facebook, according to NY Daily News.
The argument occurred while the two were in back of a taxi in Nottingham. As Humphrey was allegedly punching Rovetto, he was asking him if he was a good friend, then why did he poke his girlfriend?
When the taxi stopped, Rovetto was hit with one last punch, which sent him to the ground. He ended up hitting his head on the pavement. A hours later he died at the hospital.
The taxi driver spoke in court and he said that Rovetto told Humphrey that he didn't know she was his girlfriend.
According to Mirror, Humphrey took off after the incident, but eventually he turned himself in to police.
Humphrey admitted to manslaughter, and the sentencing judge told him that when he and his friend went out that night, violence and death was not on his mind. The judged went on to say that Humphrey didn't intend on killing his friend.
Humphrey's lawyer said that he feels bad about what had happened, and he is remorseful.
Rovetto's brother-in-law Jason Burley-Evans, 42, said that it will be hard for Rovetto's family to move on.
