article imageHomophobic Texan arrested following violent airport attack

By Nate Smith     Oct 27, 2014 in Crime
Dallas - An apparently intoxicated homophobic male was arrested Oct. 23 at a Dallas/Ft. Worth airport after he attacked another passenger over the color of the man's shirt.
A passerby captured video of the assault in which a man wearing a pink collared shirt was attacked by another man apparently because the assailant believed the pink-shirt wearing man to be gay.
The attacker was quoted telling police and bystanders he was upset over, "queers."
"That (homosexual) right there," the man reportedly said.
The attacker reportedly kicked at his victim several times before bystanders were able to subdue and pin the man down until police arrived.
Even as police arrive, the suspect continued shouting insults and epithets at the other man.
He was also quoted at one point trying to justify his actions by reminding everyone, "this is America."
The attacker can be seen in photographs smiling as he's cuffed.
The man, who hasn't yet been identified, also reportedly whines at one point that his handcuffs are too tight.
The incident reportedly occurred near Gate C30 at the DFW airport.
Witnesses described the attacker as, "absolutely crazy."
