Leszno - An elderly woman was pushed onto the train tracks by a man she met while on a train. The man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
The incident happened in Poland and it was caught on CCTV. The footage shows the disabled woman, 72, on the platform. A man dressed in black was standing by her before he pushed her wheelchair onto the tracks.
After pushing her, the unnamed individual jumped down and started to hit the victim in her head with a rock. Other passengers took notice and they pulled him off of her.
The man hit the victim dozens of times before he was pulled off of her by witnesses. After he was pulled off, he was pushed to the ground and held there until police arrived.
The woman, who was also not named, was on a train she boarded in Czestochowa. On that train, she got to talking to the man, 33, after he sat next to her. She had to change trains in Leszno and he offered to help her find the second train. That's when he pushed her onto the tracks.
The woman survived the attack and ambulance rushed her to the hospital. She is still there receiving treatment for multiple injuries, including head wounds and broken ribs.
Police arrested the attacker and he is now facing attempted murder charges. Psychiatrists are also examining him to determine whether he is fit to stand trial.
