Eighteen-year-old pedophile gets 25 years in prison

An 18-year-old pedophile, Raymond Frolander received 25 years in prison instead of a life sentence after he plea-bargained for a no-contest. He also agreed to be registered permanently as a sex offender and will be required to wear an ankle bracelet when he is released from prison. The crime took place in Daytona Beach, FL last July. .

The victim’s father, Jason Browning, is not charged with any crime. He noticed that Frolander was attacking the victim in a barn and beat Frolander until he was unconscious. Browning then called the police to report Frolander’s crime and also the fact that Frolander was lying in a bloody puddle as a result of his beating. Browning is said to have claimed that Frolander was friends with the young child and they used to play video games with the door closed and Browning had had no suspicions with respect to their privacy. There is much controversy as to whether Browning did the right thing by beating the perp or if he should have just called the police the minute he noticed the perp acting inappropriately with his son. Daytona Beach police chief, Mike Chitwood, stated that he did not have a problem with this act at all. He feels that way as a police chief and as a father.

Browning admits that his son saved Frolander’s life. He admitted to going into the kitchen to grab a butcher knife and intending to kill Frolander but his son stopped him. Browning stated that his son is the real hero in bringing about a peaceful end to a horrific act.

It was known locally that Frolander was considered like a family member to the Brownings. Frolander’s grandmother was rather surprised at what her grandson did and stated that he should have sought help a long time ago.
