Queens Village - A patient crook allegedly robbed an 88-year-old man of his casino winnings in Queens. He followed him from the betting house to his home.
Gregory Hillman, 57, is being accused of trailing the man for 90 minutes. The journey covered more than 10 miles, according to NY Daily News.
Prosecutors say that Hillman spotted his victim counting his $1,000 prize money at the Resorts World Casino in South Ozone Park on Halloween.
According to NewsDay, prosecutors said Hillman followed the man on buses, subways and even into a grocery store before arriving in front of his East Elmhurst home.
Before the victim could enter his apartment building, Hillman violently shoved the man, who fell down to the pavement and suffered some injuries. Hillman then took his wallet, which had the money in it, as well as a credit card, according to NBC. The victim did blackout upon hitting the pavement, and he was taken to the hospital.
The victim was treated for a bump on his head, as well as other injuries.
Hillman was arrested on Saturday, and now he is facing robbery charges. If he is convicted, he could be sentenced up to 15 years in prison.
Police said that Hillman's movements were tacked using security footage and he was linked to an ID card that he swiped at the casino.
