2 of the Waterkloof Four re-arrested for partying in prison

By Matthew Hendricks     Feb 17, 2014 in Crime
Two of the Waterkloof Four have been re-arrested following a video they recorded in prison. In the video it appears they have smuggled alcohol into their cell, are partying, and looking hot for the camera.
According to news24.com, the correctional service department said two of the four will be held for 72 hours while an investigation into their jail cell party at the Kgosi Mampuru prison in Pretoria continues.
Timeslive.com reports that the two had a party with alcohol in their jail cell ahead of their release.
Correctional services department spokesman Manelisi Wolela said alcohol and cellphones were not allowed in prisons. In the video we see Frikkie du Preez and Christoff Becker allegedly drinking and using a cellphone.
According to mg.co.za, Wolela said the investigation over the next 72 hours would involve watching the video, interviewing the two parolees and speaking to those responsible for security on the day.
The Waterkloof Four were originally convicted of a murder they alledgedly commited in 2001 in a park in Pretoria when they were all between 14 and 16 years old. They were sentenced to 12 years.
However, according to http://witness.co.za/index.php?showcontent&global[_id]=114502 , two of them, Reinach Tiedt and Gert van Schalkwyk still do not believe that they committed murder. Both men admitted to assaulting a man they believed to have stolen property, but believed that the man whose body was found by police in a park in Moreleta Park, Pretoria, in December 2001 was not their victim.
