The Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is not only one of Scotland's most visited free attractions, it is one of the most visited museums in the UK, if you do not include London in the statistics.
This Spanish Baroque style building has over 20 themed, state-of-the-art galleries displaying
wide-ranging collections including one of Europe's great art collections.
The building first opened its doors in 1901 as the Palace of Fine Arts for the Glasgow International Exhibition held that year. It is perfectly located by the 22 mile (35km) long River Kelvin and across the road from the popular Kelvingrove Park.
What you may not expect to find in the centre hall of this fascinating, recently renovated building is
the filming of an episode for the 37th series of the BBC's long-running popular show -
The Antiques Roadshow. The show's first appearance was back in 1979 and invites viewers to bring items along to be valued by experts.

What you may not also expect is to be asked to part of the show as one of the interested onlookers. So you can go on holiday to Scotland and, surprisingly, maybe appear the following year on a TV programme.
