Savannah - The arrival of Spring has brought forth Mother Nature's color palette and visitors to Georgia's coastal empire. Flowers are blooming, swimmers and sunbathers are at the beach, and all are enjoying the sunshine.
Spring arrived on Thursday, March 20 and signs of spring were all around in Georgia's coastal empire. After an unusually long and cold winter, flowers and flowering trees and bushes were more than ready to unveil their beautiful buds. Residents of and visitors to Savannah and Tybee Island were also ready to stroll through the squares in historic downtown Savannah and hit "Savannah's Beach," Tybee Island.
As Savannah.com notes, "There is no better time to visit Savannah than in the spring, when the azaleas reach their full bloom, blanketing the city in an explosion of color. From electric pink to vibrant magenta, the azaleas transform Savannah into a floral wonderland."
The explosion of color can be seen in and around Forsyth Park. At the north end of the 30-acre park, two trees are the current stars of the color show. The red-pink blooms of the flowering trees are the eye-catching.
