By Jessica Jones-Langley     Mar 11, 2014 in Lifestyle
This month's Vogue Italia has caused controversery with a tribal themed photo shoot featuring Dutch model Saskia de Brauw in brown face-paint posing next to African animals.
The tribal themed magazine spread was shot by famed fashion photographer Steven Meisel and presents pale-skinned Saskia de Brauw in brown face-paint posing with taxidermied African animals, and showcases pieces from top designers including Chanel, Comme des Garçons, and Céline.
Vogue Italia, no stranger to controversy, is receiving a lot of attention and widespread criticism for it's ethnic themed photo-shoot titled 'Abracadabra.'
The Cut commented that: "The level of appropriation here zooms right past fashion into the realm of the truly unsettling."
EOnline has raised questions over "how these photos get greenlighted by industry veterans who have worked in the business for years."
In contrast, The Style Watcher comments about the photo shoot's stylist saying "Marie-Amélie Sauvé did an amazing job with her fashion choices".
What do you think about the controversial photo-shoot?
