The Twizzler Challenge consists of two people putting an end of a Twizzler in their mouth, and then they race to eat it. The challenge is to help spread Autism awareness, and to raise funds for various autism charities.
A few days ago, the Today Show hosts, Matt Lauer and Kathie Lee, participated in the challenge. Meredith Vieira also took part in the challenge and donated $5,000 to New York Collaborates for Autism.
Lena Dunham and Allison Williams of “Girls” have also done the challenge, which seems to continue to become more and more popular. Dunham posted the video of her particpating in the challenge to her Instagram page.
Just like the Ice Bucket Challenge, people can nominate others to do the Twizzler Challenge within 24 hours of viewing their friend’s video. If they refuse, then they donate money to the cause. The Ice Bucket Challenge involved dumping a bucket of ice cold water over one’s head. Before a participant dumped the water over their head, they nominated other people, and if they refused to do the challenge within 24 hours, they would have had to donate to the cause.
