Survey: Almost 10% of Americans have gone to work high

Almost 1 in 10 Americans have shown up to work high on pot, according to a new survey, which was conducted by Mashable and SurveyMonkey.
According to CNBC, the report revealed that 9.7 percent of Americans admitted to smoking pot before going to work. Pot and prescription drug habits of 534 Americans were analyzed.
The survey also revealed that almost 81 percent of Americans got their hands on their marijuana illegally.
A little more than 28 percent of the respondents said they have taken a prescription and then gone to work. Only around 7.20 percent said they took the prescription outside the intended medicinal purpose. The survey also revealed that the majority of the participants legally acquired the prescriptions.
According to Mashable, in the United States, around 22 million pounds of pot is grown each year. It legal to buy it for recreational use in Colorado and Washington. It is legal to use for medicinal purposes in 23 states, as well as Washington, D.C.
Many companies have different opinions when it comes to drug testing, but most companies in the United States are not required to test for drugs. Many local and state governments have statutes in place that limit workplace drug testing. Sometimes it is even prohibit, unless drug testing is required by state or Federal regulations for some jobs.
For the most part, private employers are allowed to test for a variety of drugs and substances.
