The group, called the Freedom Socialist Party (
FSP), has been
pushing for a higher minimum wage for years, and has gone as far as demanding $20 an hour for all workers.
A few days ago the group posted ads on both
Indeed and Craigslist. The ads
stated that they are looking to hire an experienced web developer for $13 per hour, or negotiable depending on experience.
According to
The Blaze, the authenticity of the job listing was verified by
Reason Magazine.
After the job listing became known to the public, some critics, such as Reason, had something to
say. Reason Magazine opined, saying that maybe the group wanted to protect their employees from the temptations of capitalist greed.
Reason also said that maybe the Freedom Socialist Party didn't feel compelled to compensate their employees with that kind of cash. referring to the $20 per hour the group once pushed for.
