This second edition of Bare is comprised of a new color cover, edits and revisions. Hafker is able to tackle a wide spectrum of topics in this book, and he is able to explain some of the most unexplainable feelings and emotions. He does that with sincerity and passion thanks to his creative writing prowess. He is able to paint a vivid picture in the minds of his readers with his verisimilitude, free verse and eloquent verbage.
Some of the highlight poems on this marvelous collection include "Innocence," "Life Span," "I Told My Grandmother," "Damaged Ones" and "MARIA," the latter of which is affectionately dedicated to his soul-mate in life, who is the epitome of warmth, wit and wonder.
Without giving too much away, this poetry book is a must for any fans of poetry or quality literature. Hafker does not disappoint. His mission is to give his reading audience a deeper appreciation and love for poetry, and it is safe to say that he accomplished that goal, with the second re-print of Bare. He is a true role model to aspiring poets everywhere.
The Verdict
Overall, Eric Hafker does a superb job on Bare, and he leaves his readers wanting more poems. It is an extremely well-written collection of poems, and there is something in it for everybody. Hafker is not afraid to showcase his vulnerability as a writer and poet, and in return, his vulnerability is the reader's reward. This bold poetry book garners five out of five stars.
