The Nine and Wine Charity Golf Tournament’s winning foursome were Michael Verdone (President Elect 2015 - SAMCAR), Cory Benner (Silver Sponsor – Guild Mortgage), Bob Hintz (Today Sotheby’s Int’l Realty) and Steve Blaton (SAMCAR CEO).
"Many thanks to our events sponsors, said Nasreen Wills, like First California Mortgage, Denise Granville of State Farm Insurance and Mark Linton, Kevin Gaughan of US Bank. Wills is marketing and communications director for SAMCAR and contacted this reporter and other members of the press. "Each year SAMCAR has this charity event and it is very important to us in the realtor community," said Steve Balian, realtor with Coldwell Banker.
There are similar 'Nine and Wine' fundraising events across the nation. Yet for SAMCAR members this one that they help organize and contribute to is special because it is all about their community and the many people and businesses they serve. "This year's event was sold out and our aim was to raise over $10,000 to go to local charities we know such as, HIP Housing, HEART, CORA, and Shelter Network/Innvision," just to name a few, said Wills.
Human Investment Project Housing for example is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating affordable housing for thousands of San Mateo County residents each year. Through innovative programs like its "Home Sharing Program, Self-Sufficiency Program and Property Development Program", HIP Housing helps those in need of housing participate in these programs they can establish independence and self-reliance.

Like HIP, the organization HEART helps people meet critical housing needs through a public-private partnership that raises funds to help not only first-time homebuyers with loans but also helps developers build affordable housing.
For the members of SAMCAR taking the time to raise funds and donate to these important charities is part of their commitment to serving the community. Realtors are part of the community and work to make the communities they live and serve in a happy, healthy, safe and prosperous one. To learn more about SAMCAR visit the web site.
