Man in London recieves $5,500 parking ticket

Manish Wadhwani, 32, received the bill after he took his wife and three-year-old son to the Winter Wonderland festival in Hyde Park.

Wadhwani had a pre-arranged deal at the NCP car park, and he was supposed to be able to stay there for up to 12 hours for £5 ($7.50), just as long as he pre-booked the place.

However, when Wadhwani returned to their car on Sunday afternoon, within his 12-hour allowance, he found the massive parking ticket bill.

Eventually, Wadhwani found out the bill was a mistake. The car park’s machines charged him for three months since he last used the car park.

A spokeswoman with NCP said they investigated the issue and discovered the mistake. She said a barrier may have already been raised, and this is why it showed Wadhwani had parked with NCP in August and haven’t left using the card he used on entry.

He said he essentially spent a whole working day trying to get in contact with NCP, and their system wasn’t available and he Tweeted them a number of times. Wadhwani added that the bank was helpful, but they were shocked. he said he wasn’t able to use his credit card for days.
