article imageFamily gets $140K more for home after including cat in deal

Melbourne - Last weekend a family in Australia auctioned their home off for $2,060,000 Australian dollars, but they ended up selling it for $140K more after including their cat in the deal.
According to Consumerist, one of the bidders' daughters saw the cat hanging around during an inspection, and she fell in love with her. The mother joked about including the cat, Tiffany, in the sale and the daughter wanted to take her up on it.
The bidders upped their offer to $2.2 million, but only if Tiffany was included in the deal. The family agreed to the offer.
The family said at first they didn't believe it, but the bidder really wanted the cat with the sale of the house.
The family said that they believe that the cat would have wanted to stay in the house.
At first the couple's 19-year-old son was not happy about the deal, but he has since come around. The couple said their son was fine with the deal at the end because the family that bought the home has a younger child who will take good care of the cat.
The mother of the family said that the Tiffany would often just sit on the couch during the viewings, and people would give her attention by petting her, according to Independent.
The family said that they are going to be sad to see their four-year-old cat leave, but they have a few pets to fall back on, including their two dogs, two rabbits and their fish. They also said they are considering adopting a cat from the RSPCA when they do move.
