Webb, from East Alton, Illinois, heads to the gym several times per week, and she has now achieved Internet fame after a video of her deadlifting went viral. The video showed her doing 225 pounds, which is more than what many men can do.
The grandmother can do more weight than that, according to her trainer at the gym she goes to. John Wright, her trainer at Club Fitness, said she reached 245 pounds and she can lift more than over 90 percent of the other members at the gym.
Webb started to go to the gym back in 2014 and she said at that time she had a hard time going up the stairs and she had to use a chair if she got on the floor. She said now she can get right up off the floor and the harder she works out, the better she feels.
Eventually she found that she was good at deadlifting. In 2015, she entered the Missouri State Powerlifting and Midwest Open in the 75 and older division. In the competition, she had to do the bench press and squats, which she did. Webb went on to win her division after doing a 215-pound deadlift.
Since the video was uploaded to Instagram on Monday, it has received more than 70,000 likes and more than 17,000 comments. She was able to deadlift 225 pounds for three reps.
Webb plans to attempt a 260 pound deadlift in St. Louis in June. She will set an American record if she manages to deadlift the weight.
