By Markos Papadatos     Feb 17, 2014 in Health
Kenny Santucci is a host, actor, model, trainer, as well as head coach at CrossFit GSP. He holds many training certifications to his credit.
Throughout his athletic career, he has competed and completed the "Ironman," as well as such adventure races as "Tough Mudder" and "Spartan Race."
"When I was younger I was really heavy, so I re-evaluated my life when I was about 15 or 16 years old," he explained.
"I became a personal trainer a couple of years ago. I became as educated as possible as far as fitness goes and I searched around and I stumbled across CrossFit a couple of years ago, with a buddy of mine. Then, I really got into it about two years ago in New York when I joined CrossFit and I would go there all the time," he said.
He noted that CrossFit involves a combination of weightlifting, gymnastics, as well as high intensity cardio. "It covers everything and that's the beauty of it," he said.
When asked what motivates the extraordinary trainer from day-to-day, he said, "I love to practice what I preach, and I think a lot of people don't do that. I like to lead by example. There are days when I may not want to work out, but I do it anyway, and then I realize how good I feel after I work out."
Santucci shared that it was a "pretty cool" feeling to win MTV's "The Challenge" three times. "I got to travel the world, so I got pretty lucky," he said.
For hopefuls who wish to get into CrossFit, Santucci stated, "It can change the quality of your life and the way you live. This is coming from somebody who used to be heavy and very uncomfortable in their own skin and very unhappy with every day. The more in shape you are, and the better you feel, it comes out in your personality and the way that you carry yourself and the way you move through life. By being fit, you are happier and moving around becomes easier."
Regarding his future plans, he revealed, "I want to make this gym CrossFit GSP a success, and possibly do a second or a third one. Eventually, I would like to open a health food restaurant and I would love to do television hosting as well. Other than that, I am always moving."
