May 2014: Maan Pamintuan-Lamorena reported that a Japanese mushroom extract may eliminate the human papillomavirus (HPV) found in cervical cancer cells. In the mushroom extract study, Dr. Judith A Smith from the University of Texas discovered a mushroom extract called active hexose correlated compound (AHCC) that showed to have slowed the growth of tumors.
April 2014: Japan's biggest pharmaceutical company has been hit with a $6 billion penalty for concealing cancer risks associated with its Actos diabetes drug.
May 2014: A Brazilian cancer patient and his daughter found health and healing through the alkaline diet.
May 2014: The human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine is given to prevent the risk of cancer associated with HPV but opponents argue that not only is the vaccine risky, but it holds no value.
June 2014: According to a study published this past June in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute (JNCI), physical inactivity has been linked colon, endometrial, and lung cancers.
