Taco Bell will offer a breakfast menu beginning March 27, including the Waffle Taco, the all-in-one A.M. Crunchwrap and Cinnabon Delights, which are already offered at other times. The menu will be available from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., or earlier.
According to the official website, the new menu will be the most extensive since the business opened its doors more than 50 years ago. The site noted the restaurant had recently introduced items such as Doritos Locos Tacos, FourthMeal and Cantina Bell.
“Fans already like to come to Taco Bell for lunch and dinner, and they share with us their love of late night. Now they’re not just asking, but telling us they want Taco Bell Breakfast,” Taco Bell President, Brian Niccol explained on the website. “To give customers the great-tasting food and Live Más experience, with value in mind, we have invested in our most extensive training ever for Team Members and will not require any major new equipment for operators – making for a holistic effort our teams are proud of and our owners are confident to execute.”
Taco Bell Breakfast will have traditional items, such as bacon, sausage and eggs with a Taco Bell twist — products wrapped up and portable. The Taco Bell website stated fans are making comments about the new items on social media platforms, including comments about their appetite for the Waffle Taco. The taco will include a warm waffle wrapped around a bacon or sausage patty, with scrambled eggs and cheese and a side of sweet syrup.
The A.M. Crunchwrap has a hash brown, melted cheese and bacon, sausage patty or premium thick cut steak, wrapped up in a tortilla.
Taco Bell’s menu will be offered at more than 5,500 restaurants nationwide It will include the Waffle Taco, A.M. Crunchwrap, a variety of other food items, orange juice and coffee.
The Kansas City Star reported Taco Bell officials state they are attempting to compete with McDonald's and its breakfasts, including the Egg McMuffin. Reportedly, the restaurant will offer breakfast for 30 minutes longer than McDonald's.
The Huffington Post reported Taco Bell has been offering breakfast, including hash browns and egg-and-sausage burritos and 850 restaurants on the west coast since January 2012. Breakfast will soon be offered nationally.
