In the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) notice published Friday evening, the recall by Pinnacle Foods Inc. was prompted after testing found the presence of Listeria monocytogenes within the plant environment.
Parsippany, New Jersey-based Pinnacle Foods is saying the recall was initiated out of an abundance of caution because the health and safety of their customers are their top priority. No illnesses have been reported due to any of the recalled items. There is a notice of the recall of Aunt Jemima frozen breakfast products on the company’s Facebook page.
All affected distributors, retail, and food service customers are being notified and the products affected by this recall are being pulled from the shelves. This recall only applies to Aunt Jemima frozen waffles, pancakes and french bread products. It does not apply to any Aunt Jemima dry mixes and syrups.
Consumers are asked to not consume these products. Affected product may be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact Pinnacle Foods at 1-888-299-7646.

Listeria monocytogenes is a bacteria that can cause serious and sometimes fatal illnesses in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
