Jamie Oliver, the well-known UK celebrity chef, has announced that he will be opening a new Italian restaurant in central Stockholm in Sweden. The Naked Chef says that it is going to be "epic."
Plans were announced this week to open a new Italian restaurant, dubbed "Jamie's Italian," in the Stureplan area of Stockholm. Apparently it will be located in the lobby of the Scandic Anglais hotel.
Oliver told the Allt om Stockholm website (reported in Swedish), "I'm really looking forward to kicking off our first restaurant in Stockholm," adding that "It's going to be epic."
In line with Oliver's normal policies, the restaurant will focus on local and organic produce. Oliver has been famous for both his TV cooking shows and cookbooks in the last few years and has recently branched out into campaigning for healthy food in general.
Oliver owns many restaurants worldwide, including locations such as Australia, Russia, Singapore, Turkey and the UK. This latest restaurant in Stockholm will be opening in the autumn of 2014 and will seat 200 diners.
As you can see from the video below, Oliver has had his eye on Stockholm for quite some time:
