YouTube star Caleb Logan Bratayley dead at 13

On Monday, she provided a bit more explanation.

“Caleb’s death has raised many questions about how and why this could happen to a seemingly healthy boy,” Katie wrote on Instagram. “Sadly, tests have confirmed today that Caleb passed away from an undetected medical condition. We’ll have more definitive answers in the coming weeks but ask that you help us celebrate his life instead of focus on his death.”

On Monday, a spokeswoman for the Anne Arundel County, Maryland, police department said that police responded to the family’s home in Arnold, Maryland, for a “medical emergency.” Caleb was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

There were no signs of drugs or violence, and the police are no longer investigating the death.

Caleb’s memorial will be live-streamed Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET. More information can be found at Periscope at @bratayley and on Facebook at Facebook.com/bratayley.

The Bratayleys began posting “family friendly content” on YouTube in December 2010. In the years that followed, they would attract more than 1.6 million fans.

Caleb also had his own YouTube channel in which he primarily made videos about the video game “Minecraft.” He’s followed by more than 113,000 people there.
