The three-minute ad, released Tuesday, offers first-timers a quick primer on the proper British way to do things.
As Fry explains, it’s not hard to do things in the UK, which features highlights like the Giant’s Causeway and Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. First, for example, you should note that more than 90 percent of conversations are about the weather, but you must abide by the “Agreement” rule.
Also, according to Fry, British people love to queue (or stand in line, for those across the pond), because it reassures citizens that the thing they’re doing is so popular they can’t do it right away. But if the line moves too slowly, you must express your displeasure in the “strongest possible terms.”
Fry also delves into the strange British tradition of cheering or applauding when someone drops a glass.
Finally, Fry says, when you find the queue you’ve been standing in has broken down, do your best to survive the “After you” loop.
Heathrow is Europe’s busiest airport by passenger traffic and the third-biggest airport in the world by that measure. Heathrow saw a record 73.4 million passengers in 2014.
