By Natty Walker     May 31, 2014 in Internet
What could be cuter than a four-legged puppy playing at the beach for the first time? Perhaps, only a two-legged puppy romping up and down the beach in jubilance could compare. In less than three minutes, this video can change your whole outlook on life.
Though he only has two legs, the Boxer puppy featured in this video is able to keep pace with other dogs. Duncan Lou Who delightfully bounds in the sand with a smile on his slobbery face. Filmed on a GoPro, this heartwarming video quickly became a viral sensation. Currently, Duncan's "First Trip to the Beach" has more than 4.8 million views. There's something about watching a two-legged dog trouncing playfully up and down a sandy beach that makes anything seem possible.
According to BuzzFeed, the video was uploaded by Panda Paws Rescue, an American animal shelter located in Vancouver, Washington. The shelter explained in the YouTube description, "Duncan was born with severely deformed rear legs that had to be removed. He has a wheel chair, but can't stand to use it. So we let him be free and just walk on his two legs." Not only can Duncan run, but he can run as fast as the four-legged dogs. At one point during the video, Duncan even jumped and tried to grab the camera with his mouth.
Videos of disabled or handicapped animals often become popular on the internet. One example is Chris P. Bacon, a paralyzed pig in a wheelchair. Also, this video of a disabled kitten befriended by a dog has more than 2.8 million views. Likewise, Duncan's beach video has all the makings of a likable, sharable internet sensation. An adorable puppy overcoming adversity and exhibiting pure joy on a sunny beach is a recipe for viral. Comments on the video include viewers sharing how inspired they are by this tenacious dog.
