Between Two Ferns is a show hosted by funnyman Zach Galifianakis and has previously featured the likes of Bradley Cooper, Tobey Maguire, Samuel L. Jackson, Justin Bieber and more, and usually consists of Galifianakis asking extremely awkward questions to a ususually disbelieving guest. This was apparently the first time a politician has appeared on the show.
The appearance by Obama was certainly a coup for the show, and both Obama and Galifianakis traded witty barbs. When Galifianakis mentioned the impossibility of the current president running a third time, Obama quipped: “I think it’s a good idea. If I ran a third time it would be like doing a third Hangover movie. It didn’t really work out very well, did it?”
There are many more quips exchanged, including Galifianakis asking what it’s like for Obama to be “the last black president” and Obama asking Galifianakis if he was depressed that the White House takes one turkey out of circulation every year.
Of course, Obama also talked about the Affordable Care Act, which began with Galifianakis saying “Here we go…” and at one point looking at his watch.
