Amazon’s July 15th ‘Prime Day’ will be bigger than Black Friday

As SlashGear reports, “Prime Day” will be a “one-day only event filled with more deals than Black Friday.” The date will be July 15, Amazon’s 20th birthday, and the sale will feature offers on products from across Amazon’s vast catalogue.
To take advantage, you have to be a Prime member. The company is obviously trying to persuade people to sign up for the $99 per year subscription but it is worth noting that you will be able to use the 30-day free trial of Prime to get access to the Prime Day offers.
The sale promises even more deals and discounts than Amazon’s famous Black Friday sale. The event will begin at midnight and the offers will be switched around as often as every 10 minutes. There will be “thousands of Lightning Deals,” seven popular daily deals and unlimited free Prime shipping.
Prime Day deals will be available in the US, UK, Spain, Japan, Italy, Germany, France, Canada and Austria. They will cover “dozens of categories,” from electronics to garden equipment and everyday essentials.
Greg Greeley, Vice President of Amazon Prime, explains that the company “will keep making [Amazon Prime] better” because of how much its members appreciate the service. Prime Day looks to be just another benefit of having a subscription, alongside the increasing availability of same-day delivery options in select cities and more digital products to stream and enjoy.
Amazon has also announced a photo contest that could see one lucky winner in each Prime-eligible country receiving a $10,000 Amazon gift card. The theme is #PrimeLiving and the aim is for Amazon Prime members to show off how having a Prime subscription helps them in their life. Winners will be selected based on the image that most creatively shows off the virtues of #PrimeLiving.
