La Cañada, symbol of the city of Córdoba, is the partial channeling of a creek, tributary of the Suquía River, that crosses the central part of the city. The channeling started in 1671, but the most recent improvements date from 1944. It is built with stones, lined by huge trees and crossed by numerous bridges.
