Bolivia's president wants the coca leaf legalised for international trade. Coca-Cola has been using the coca leaf in its drinks since the 19th century, yet the UN banned the international trade in coca leaves 45 years ago. The Andes people have been using the Coca leaf for thousands of years and its health-benefits are well-known, the Bolivian president points out.
