‘Sometimes Grandma and Grandpa Forget’ now available for pre-order

Author Kacy Chambers has announced the upcoming release of her new book, ‘Sometimes Grandma and Grandpa Forget’, which is now available for pre-order ahead of its official debut on November 21, 2020.
Chambers, a stay at home mother of two, published her first book during the COVID-19 quarantine earlier this year. ‘Do NOT Touch Me There’ , which gives parents a way to teach their children about staying safe and learning about their bodies, was released in July 2020.
In September 2020,the accompanying ‘Do NOT Touch Me There Journal’ first launched, offering a beautiful journal where boys and girls can explore their feelings to contemplate gratitude, mindfulness, and self-esteem through affirmations. The journal, designed for ages 6-10, makes for a wonderful gift for any child, especially those who have been asking for a diary or journal.
Now, Chambers is launching her second book. ‘Sometimes Grandma and Grandpa Forget’ helps children understand when people in their families have memory issues. With conditions such as dementia and Alzheimer’s on the rise, more and more families are learning to cope with the impacts these disorders can have on everyone involved, and ‘Sometimes Grandma and Grandpa Forget’ takes a special approach to explaining these issues to children.
“Children understand far more than adults give them credit for,” said Chambers. “They are observers…When the people they love begin behaving differently, often, children are the first to notice.”
Chambers says this is when adults should step up and explain problems like dementia, listen to worries and questions from kids, and offer guidelines on interacting with people who are suffering with issues like these. Chambers has written her newest book to explain – and help adults explain – to children that dementia is a disease that affects people but does not define who they are. “’Sometimes Grandma and Grandpa Forget’ provides the perfect platform for parents to begin a much-needed conversation and help ease children’s worries,” said Chambers.
Right now, ‘Sometimes Grandma and Grandpa Forget’ is available for pre-order. Until November 21, 2020, customers can pre-order an autographed copy of the book, and it will be shipped after the book has officially launched.
