Chelle Trucking & Logistics, a freight delivery firm based in Atlanta, Georgia, has announced a new partnership between their non-profit arm, Land We Love, and Feeding America and the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Running indefinitely, the partnership will see Chelle Trucking give 100 meals to children in need for each and every truckload moved.

This announcement follows a dramatic rise in food insecurity in the state of Georgia since the start of the COVID-19 crisis. According to their 2020 Impact Report, the Atlanta Community Food Bank saw a 47 percent spike in hunger across its service area, with thousands of families turning to food banks this year for the first time ever. Almost 1 million residents, including 1 in 4 children, are now struggling with hunger in and around Atlanta.

Chelle Trucking & Logistics recognized the food bank’s need for support to meet rising demand, and decided to step in to help. The company launched in Atlanta on October 12, 2020, and from their very first shipment they have committed to donating $25 to Feeding America and the Atlanta Community Food Bank for each truck moved.

“We feel a deep sense of responsibility to serve our community, where so many of our members and customers work and live,” commented CEO, Ronice Harrison. “Feeding America and the Atlanta Community Food Bank are brilliant charities, and we are excited to work with them to offer our communities the help that they desperately need right now.”

“We are thrilled to partner with Chelle Trucking and Logistics to address food insecurity in Georgia,” said Kyle Waide, President and CEO of Atlanta Community Food Bank. “Together, I am confident that we can provide our community with much needed resources, as we continue to recover from the impact of COVID-19″.
