The living space is on the second floor. It's very large and comfortable and perfectly private when you're inside. Anyway, the Dutch aren't much into privacy: we habitually keep all our curtains open in the daytime and often also at night. Each country's tradition is different I suppose. It's a lot of fun walking through Dutch streets at night and checking out which TV programmes they might be watching...
