Réya Returns to the Studio for Upcoming Instrumental EP

The Acclaimed Violinist/Composer Explores Themes of Love, the Environment and the Pandemic in her Newest EP!

(PRUnderground) August 20th, 2020

Violinist/composer Réya has returned to the studio for her upcoming instrumental EP “2020 Twisted,” set for release this fall.

The EP will feature four new songs from the acclaimed musician, featuring themes of love and loss, the environment, the Coronavirus pandemic and more.

“This year, 2020, has been full of horrible news and wherever we look, people are just talking about bad stuff and spreading negative energy,” she said. “This EP will focus on the few good things in 2020 that rarely anyone talks about. This EP is meant to spread in the least a sliver of positivity and light to what everyone is going through.”

Known for her string of hit singles that included “Rooted.” “Debris,” as well as the acoustic cover of Ibrahim Maalouf’s “True Sorry,” and others, Réya explores her eclectic musical sensibilities in the new instrumental collection that blends pop and rock with jazz and rhythm and blues.

“The most important song in the EP is dedicated to Mother Earth and all it has done for us and how in many aspects it is getting healed,” she said. “It is one of the main good things happening in the world that no one pays attention to, but we all must make our planet a priority because without a healthy earth, we cannot survive.”

Another song, which also remains untitled is about reconnecting with family friends and loved ones after taking a break from everything during the pandemic, while expressing the gratefulness for having good people around you.

Although the pandemic has put a damper on plans to tour the U.S. this year in support of the EP, Réya hopes to return to the stage sometime next year when the health crisis subsides.

“Given the uncertainty of this year, I will continue to work on my music,” she said. “I enjoy the creative process and I especially I like to write a bit every day and sometimes, I am feeling very inspired that I dedicate the whole day or few days to that piece, so I’m optimistic about returning to the stage next year with some amazing new music.”
